FAQ’s for Teeth Whitening
HOW DOES THE TEETH WHITENING PROCESS WORK?
There are 3 easy steps to a noticeably whiter smile:
1. Insert cheek retractor and apply whitening gel to teeth.
2. Sit back and relax for 20 minutes under the LED light.
3. Rinse and repeat (up to 3 times for desired results).
WILL I HAVE TOOTH SENSITIVITY AFTER I GET MY TEETH WHITENED?
Although uncommon, some customers can experience some tooth sensitivity or “achy teeth” during the first 24 hours after the whitening treatment. People with existing sensitivity, recently cracked teeth, micro-cracks, open cavities, leaking fillings, exposed roots, or other dental conditions that cause sensitivity may find that those conditions increase or prolong tooth sensitivity after the treatment.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Results typically last 6 months to 1 year. After the treatment, it is natural for teeth color to regress somewhat over time. This is natural and should be very gradual, but it can be accelerated by exposing the teeth to various staining agents, such as coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine, colas, etc. You should not eat or drink anything except water during 60 minutes after the treatment because the gel opens the pores of your enamel and makes your teeth very vulnerable to staining agents.
WHAT IS YOUR GUARANTEE?
Although most natural teeth can benefit from a teeth whitening treatment, everyone’s teeth are different and results will vary. People with yellowish teeth generally get the best results and if your teeth have spots due to tetracycline use (grayish tint) or fluorosis, these will be difficult to whiten. Also, if you have artificial teeth, caps, crowns, veneers, porcelain, composite or other restorative materials, you shouldn’t expect dramatic results from this treatment because the peroxide gel will not whiten (or damage) artificial dental work.
CAN I WHITEN MY TEETH WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
Unfortunately without a doctor’s note, we cannot whiten your teeth if you are pregnant or nursing.
